Is it just me who’s been feeling more helpless each time another picture from Alabama appears? The destruction is unreal. Fortunately I’m done feeling helpless and ready to jump in and help.
I talked with my friend Myra (from My Blessed Life and The Casabella Project) tonight. The tornadoes that ripped through Alabama came within a mile her husband’s work and impacted many people in her area.
That’s where we come in.
If you’re interested in helping, Myra’s church is accepting donations of clothing (all sizes and types, new or gently used), toiletries, food, and Walmart gift cards. (Checks can also be made out to Trinity Free Presbyterian Church and will be used to offer assistance to local families in need.)
I’m thinking that this will be a great time to dive into the stockpile and send those items to people who desperately need them. I’m also thinking that the post office’s flat rate shipping boxes might come in handy!
If you’d like to help and want to send some type of donation, you can send it to:
Trinity Free Presbyterian Church
Attn: Tornado Aid
26072 County Road 460
Trinity, AL 35673
After the storm, there are stories of great joy and victory and stories of intense sadness and loss. Please continue to pray for the people of Alabama.

All sizes of underwear are desperately needed. Kids to adults. Both genders. I went and bought all the water I could find since some towns have a boil water order &/or no power. Also I have gone thru my stockpile & am donating my 20 jars of peanut butter. I’m waiting to volunteer for when it dies down a little & there aren’t as many to do it. There is a great FB page- Toomers for Tuscaloosa that have been coordinating efforts all over the country. The destruction here is horrific & there are so many people affected by this and many are in smaller towns that are feeling forgotten. I’m saying this because all efforts should not only focus on TTown. Thanks so much for helping.
Oh Sheryl… I’m so sorry that you’re in the midst of all of this! Thank you for the tips and the needs that you listed here… and for the reminder to remember the small towns. It’s easy to focus on the big cities that are shown on the news. This was a great reminder.
