Since I shared with you my adventures at the beginning of the Savvy Blogging Summit, I also wanted to share with you a little wrap-up of the whole weekend.
I must admit that the Summit was everything I expected and not what I expected. I expected to learn more than my mind could possibly process in one weekend. I expected fabulous speakers who would teach us about things we didn’t even know existed. I expected to connect with some of the wonderful ladies I’d met online. I expected to meet some new friends who I had not yet connected with.
Pictured here (left to right) are a few bloggy friends:
Kim from The Coupon High
Andrea from The Greenbacks Gal
Karen from Saving the Family Money
Claire from Saving Money Plan
Kelly from Kansas City Mamas
and Me 🙂
I got everything I expected…. and so much more.
I got to see the Rocky Mountains for the first time. If you’ve never experienced them, it’s a trip worth taking.
I got an extended weekend away with my family. I got to almost have a heart attack when I found out how high up the mountain Jason took Emma while I was in a Summit session. Have you ever seen what’s above the treeline in the Rockies? Well, my husband and daughter HAVE, and it involved a ski lift that mama wouldn’t have taken her on! We chalked that one up to a daddy-daughter adventure.
I also got a BIG reminder that God is so very interested in every detail of our lives. Keep in mind that we’re from Ohio. We were in Colorado for the first time ever. And my husband crossed paths with a college friend (also from Ohio) in the middle of Breckenridge. I know that this was no chance meeting. They didn’t chat long, but this friend’s wife emailed us the very next day with a word of encouragement that I desperately needed to hear. I’m not going to go into detail here, but let me just tell you that these were words that were spoken just for us, and they were exactly what we needed to hear. I’m so thankful that this gal was faithful enough to go out on a limb to share with us what she thought God wanted her to share. He not only has us in the palm of His hand, but He cares so deeply about every aspect of our lives. He took me all the way to Colorado to remind me how much He loves me.
That’s not what I went to Breckenridge expecting, but it’s the most precious thing that I walked away with. The sessions were informative. The friends (old and new) were so genuine and welcoming. The mountains were breathtaking. The God moment was….. life-changing.

It was incredible. I’m just now making my to-do list and letting the whole experience soak in. It’s going to be a while before I can process everything. Wish we could’ve spent more time chatting. It felt like the weekend just flew by. I’m sure our paths will cross again though, friend!

You reminded me with your story of the appliances that He holds us in the palm of His hand, and that just stuck with me as I was processing what happened in CO. I was honored to meet you and hope that our paths will cross again!

Thanks so much for attending the Summit. It was great to put a “real” face with all those twitter names!
Kudos to your husband for riding the ski lift. You couldn’t get me on that thing for a million dollars!
See you on Twitter!

It was great to meet you too, Toni! And I wouldn’t have gone on the lift either. Good thing Emma has her daddy to take her on crazy adventures like that one! 🙂
