CVS – Kept it Simple – Saved 93%

February 21, 2010

Starting ECBs: $5.50
Merchandise Value: $10.97
Out-of-Pocket Cost: $.72 plus tax
Ending ECBs: $7.00
Savings: $10.25 (93%)
Plus increased ECBs by $1.50

What I Bought
1 Almay Intense i-Color Liquid Liner – $5.99
1 Colgate MaxFresh Toothpaste – $2.99
1 Cheerios – $1.99

Coupons Used:
-$2.00 off Almay coupon from 2/7 SmartSource insert
-$3.00 off Almay CVS coupon from in-store printing machine
-$1.00 off Cheerios printable coupon
-$.75 off Colgate coupon from Kroger home mailer
This was a manufacturer’s coupon, so it can be used anywhere.
-$3.50 ECBs from last week

Out-of-Pocket Cost: $.72 (paid with a reward gift card – so FREE)
ECBs Earned: $5.00 ($2 Almay, $2 Colgate, $1 Reusable Bag Tag)

This is the first $1 I’ve earned on my bag tag… Maybe I’ll start remembering to bring it with me more often!

I’m also learning that doing smaller, more simple trips is so much easier for me. If they happen to be out of one item, my whole scenario isn’t thrown off. Does that work for you? Or do you try to make each trip more worthwhile by getting as much as possible.
