CVS: Saved 72% and Increased ECBs

June 6, 2010

Since I wiped out my ECBs a couple of weeks ago, my goal has been to slowly build them back up by buying things that we actually need.  I saw a couple of great deals in this week’s list, so we made a quick stop today. Here’s what I got:

Starting ECBs: $2.00
Merchandise Value: $17.98
Out-of-Pocket Total: $4.98 plus tax
Ending ECBs: $5.00
Savings: $13.00 (72%)

Transaction #1

2 Rolaids Softchews – $7.98
-$4.00 off 2 Rolaids coupon from 6/6 RedPlum insert
-$2.00 ECBs from last week
Out-of-Pocket Cost: $1.98 plus tax
ECBs Earned: $4.00

Transaction #2

3 Nutri-Grain Bars – $10.00
– 3 $1.00 off Nutri-Grain printable coupons
-$4.00 ECBs from Transaction #1
Out-of-Pocket Cost: $3.00 (no tax on food)
ECBs Earned: $5.00

So I ended up spending $4.98 out-of-pocket but increasing my ECBs by $3.00. Not bad!

Your Turn: Did you stop by CVS to snag this week’s deals already? If not, did anything from this week’s deals make you want to get to CVS?
