This week we’re talking about candy coupons. Oh… they’re everywhere right now! And some of them may not expire until after October 31. If you can get your hands on any that expire after 10/31…. don’t use them yet!
You gotta know when to hold ’em.
In the case of candy coupons, there are four times of the year when you can usually use your holiday candy coupons to score free candy: after Halloween, after Christmas, after Valentine’s Day, and after Easter. The candy manufacturers put out coupons for money off candy in hopes that you’ll use them before each holiday. But sometimes they’re kind enough to make the expiration date AFTER the holiday. When the stores put the candy on sale… usually for more than 1/2 off… the coupons are still good!
I’m sure that if you can get some Hershey’s kisses after Halloween, no one will be the wiser when you use them as part of your Christmas baking. Why not hold onto those great coupons (as long as they expire AFTER the holiday) and score an even better deal?
