This post brought to you by Coastal.com. All opinions are 100% mine.
It's that time of year. The little self-addressed postcard came in the mail alerting me that it's time to get my eyes checked. I'm usually a contact lens wearer, but I like to update my glasses from time to time too. Last year I decided it was time to get a new set of frames. Okay, so my old ones were uhm… 15 years old with lenses that were REALLY not right for my vision. Let's just say it was definitely time for new glasses.
By the time I paid for the eye exam, I sure wasn't in the mood to drop another $300 on eyeglasses from the eye doctor's office. Instead I brought my prescription home and shopped for glasses from the comfort of my office chair. I'd heard of online glasses retailers, but I'd never used one.
I ended up ordering from Coastal.com. I loved their frame selection and their prices. Plus they had a try-it-on feature that let me upload my photo and virtually try on the frames before I bought. And did I mention their prices? 😉
Here are the two frames I was choosing between.
I ended up with the bottom ones in a coffee color. I couldn't believe the price difference between the frames on Coastal.com and the frames at the doctor's office. Truth? I was a little nervous about the quality. But with free shipping and returns available, what did I have to lose?
Ordering was a breeze. I just picked my frames and entered all of the lens information from my prescription. I was pretty surprised when my glasses showed up in just a few days. I thought for sure I'd be waiting weeks for them! I was also impressed with the quality. These were just like the frames that I'd seen in the doctor's office. They even came with some cleaner, a cleaning cloth, a little repair kit, and a hard case. I had everything I needed, and I didn't have to spend a fortune.
I've had my glasses for almost a year now, and I'm still very happy with them. I will definitely be ordering from Coastal.com again. In fact, I might even try them for my contact lenses this year. I just looked through their brand selection and found the ones I really like. I suppose I should probably go make that eye exam appointment first, eh?
