One of my favorite preschool assignments that Emma has received as “homework” is to create a God’s Nature Box for a special show-and-tell session. Her teacher asked the kids to head outdoors with their parents to look around and appreciate the beauty of fall. She wanted them to collect items that reminded them of the awesome things that God has created. What a great project!
Emma and her daddy headed out and collected a cattail, a rock, some leaves, an acorn, a fern, and other miscellaneous nature items. They also took pictures of some things that you wouldn’t necessarily want to place in a cardboard box… the lake, trees, mushrooms, and woolly worms.
The picture above shows Emma anxiously awaiting her nature walk. I’m so glad that Emma’s teacher assigned this project, as it reminded us to not get so busy that we missed the beauty of God’s creation this fall.
