I was doing a frugal shopping presentation last week, and one of the participants shared the way that he and his wife keep from ending up with brown bananas just a few days after buying them. They buy bananas of several colors. They buy a few green bananas, a few greenish-yellow bananas, and a few yellow bananas. They eat the yellow ones first and then wait for the others to become ripe enough to eat. The end up eating bananas that are yellow, and they don’t end up with several brown bananas by the end of the week. That works for me! (Thanks, Phil & Pam!)
