I stopped by CVS today in desperate need of dishwasher soap, and I found an incredible deal. I was walking by the clearance section – I don’t usually stop – and I saw that they had Bayer Contour glucose monitors. They were marked down to $14.99, but I had coupons to get them free. I am racking my brain to remember where the coupons were from. They were either from a newspaper insert or All You magazine.
I don’t have diabetes, and I already got two OneTouch Ultra Minis for my dad. I am planning on either donating these meters or selling them on eBay. I had three of the coupons, so I did three great transactions….

The cashier was gracious enough (and maybe bored since the store was empty!) to allow me to split into three transactions. He held onto the $2 ECBs and asked if I wanted to use them, but I told him that the total wouldn’t reach $2. So I now have my $8 ECBs from my other Triaminic run and $5 from today! Well…. I actually stopped to get a bottle of water on the way home today. I didn’t want to pay for it, so I grabbed a bag of 99 cent candy for my hubby. I was parched, and he has a sweet tooth! I figured I’d earned $2 worth of snacks!
That does leave me with $11 ECBs going into next week. I’ve never had that many at one time! I have to pick up a prescription soon (when it’s no longer on backorder), and it’s a transferred one. That means that I’ll be getting a $30 gift card again. Good thing… I ran through the last one much quicker than I’d anticipated. I’ll be more careful this time. I’m starting to think about Christmas gifts now.
