It’s a Wrap: Wrapping Inventory & Inspiration {An Organized Christmas Part 7}

Now that we have our Gift Inventory sheets printed and filled in, it’s time to take a peek at what we’ll be using to wrap those gifts.

We usually stock up on wrapping supplies at the after-Christmas sales, so we tend to have a healthy wrapping stockpile to work with. However, we also tend to be last-minute wrappers. That means that we don’t necessarily know what we have to work with until it comes time to wrap, often after the stores are closed. Having wrapping paper but running out of tape is not a calming combination.

To avoid having wrapping paper but running out of tape, I’m going to be doing a little wrapping inventory. I’m checking out how many gift bags and boxes we have, as well as how many rolls of wrapping paper and tape. As we do our shopping, we know what we have to work with. If we need a few odds and ends before Christmas, we’ll know.

One of the things I’ll be checking closely this year is how many to/from tags we still have. We ordered these cute tags a couple of Christmases ago.

They’ve been a big hit each year, and I want to make sure we have enough for this year. I got 140 personalized labels free from Vistaprint. I just paid shipping, and since I’m ordering WAY ahead of time, I can choose the slowest (a.k.a. cheapest) shipping method. These are actually return address labels. Instead of putting our address on them, I type To: on one line and From: The Bruce Family on another. Voila! Instant to/from tags that are cute as can be!
