How does Restaurant.com work?
Restaurant.com sells $25 gift certificates to restaurants all over the country. Restaurants use this service to attract new business that hopefully turns into loyal business. They know you’re more likely to try their restaurant for the first time if you’re not risking much money to do it.
Most Restaurant.com gift certificates require you to have a bill of $35 or more. The certificates do not include alcoholic beverages, tax, or tip. A tip of 18% will automatically be added to your bill when you use a Restaurant.com certificate.
My mom used Restaurant.com certificates when she and my dad went on vacation. They ended up eating at much nicer restaurants than they would normally have chosen, and they didn’t pay any more than their usual bill. She said that the printing process was simple, and no one questioned the certificates at the restaurants.
