Sharing Savings – 8/7 Edition

August 6, 2010

I didn’t do too much shopping this week. We made a run to Target last Saturday and got $93.55 worth of groceries for $35.26. I was pretty pleased with that! Other than that, we spent WAY too much at Walmart due to me leaving my coupons at home. But we won’t even talk about that one…. Just call it a learning experience. We also made a quick stop at CVS for free drinks and Kroger (no picture!) for some fresh produce and milk. Since we’re still eating the meals we made during our Two-Week Cooking Project, we didn’t really need much grocery-wise.

Your turn…

Here is your chance to share the best deals you personally found this week! You can include drugstore, grocery store, or online finds. Pictures are helpful but not necessary. The same goes for coupons. If you can add information on which coupons you used, that will help your fellow bargain-hunters. But it’s not necessary.

I haven’t done much shopping this week either. My best deal was during a short trip to Kroger on Thursday. I found Bandaids on clearance for $.50 a box in the back of the store. I bought three and used the $3.00 off 3 coupon from the 8/1 Smartsource insert, so they were free with $1.50 in overage.

oooohhhhh…. I LOVE that cart! We’re headed in today. I’ll have to actually remember to take my coupon binder with me to scout out deals. Did you hit the 50% off General Mills sale?

One of the reasons I went to Kroger on Thursday was to get the NV Granola Nut Clusters. We were there in the afternoon, and there was not one package on the shelf. I may head over again today to see if I can find any or try to get a raincheck. I did buy a big box of Cheerios for less than $1.50.

We stopped after church today to pick up newspapers, and I checked for the Granola Nut Clusters too. (We all like them!) There were only a few on the shelf, and I grabbed those. It looks like everyone likes them!! Hopefully they’ll restock again. It might be worth asking at the front desk… Maybe they can check in the back. If not, a rain check might do the trick. That was one sweet deal…. And I ended up with a certificate for 10 bonus Box Tops for the school.
