What Happens When You’re in a Hurry at Rite Aid

October 24, 2010

I ran to Rite Aid today, and I was in a hurry when I checked out. I got some awesome deals, but the cashier missed scanning one of my $2 +UP Rewards in my second transaction. Fortunately I realized it before I left the store. She gave it back to me so I could use it next time, but I could have spent $2 less out-of-pocket today.

So, use my mistake as a reminder the next time you check out. Take a deep breath, pay attention, and make sure that all of your coupons get scanned!

That said, I did score some great deals.

Starting +UP Rewards: $3.00
Total Value: $32.97
Out-of-Pocket Cost: $5.97
Ending +UP Rewards: $5.00
Savings: $27.00 (82%)

I split this into two transactions.

+UP Rewards Earned:
$1.00 Aveeno
$5.00 Nivea
$1.00 Alka-Seltzer
$1.00 Quaker

Out-of-Pocket Cost: $2.98 plus tax

Transaction #2

Bought:
3 Pepsi 12-packs – $9.99

Coupons:
$7 +UP Rewards from Transaction #1 (This is where the other $2 didn’t scan.)

+UP Rewards Earned:

Out-of-Pocket Cost: $2.99 plus tax

Overall Savings: $27.00 (82%)
I also came out ahead by $2 +UP Rewards… unintentionally.

Don’t forget that the Video Values printable coupons have been restocked for November. You can watch 20 credits worth of videos and print another $4 off $20 purchase coupon! You can also check out all of this week’s best Rite Aid deals before you head out.

Good job! My Rite Aid was out of oatmeal all week!

Ours was kind of low on most of them too. I stopped by after church on Sunday… Good thing!
