I’m extra-excited about this deal because Kroger sent me a coupon for a FREE box of Nature Valley Granola Bars a while back. It was in one of those home mailers they send out. I was tempted to use it a few times, but I was waiting for a good deal to come along. I think the time is now. If I use my coupon, I’l save an additional $2.49, making my final price only $1.49 for SIX boxes of granola bars and TWO boxes of Cheerios! Score!  (Quick… Someone get me on the Extreme Couponing show!)

At this price, you could pick these up for your food pantry if your family won’t eat them.

Thanks, Denise! I know… It’s been SOOOO tempting to use that coupon. Now I just have to find it before I shop! 🙂

if you did 2 boxes of cheerios in scenerio number one, would 4.98 come off immediately, or, do the granola bars help trigger that number?

You get one box of free Cheerios for every 3 boxes of granola bars (or other participating cereals) purchased. So you would get $2.49 off.

Also, is the cheerios gone? I can’t find that coupon

I just checked, and the Cheerios coupon is indeed gone. If you can get a hold of 6 granola bar coupons, you can use the $1/2 Cheerios Cereals 1/9/2011 SS Insert. I didn’t get a paper, so I’m not sure which types of Cheerios are included.

OOps, nevermind about my first question, I needed to read a little more 🙂 Thank you!

Oh shoot! I just noticed something else. Have you tried this yet? The coupons say “do not double” which means this won’t work, right?

Kristin – Kroger doubles the coupons regardless. I think they only get the $.50 from the manufacturer and they eat the $.50 of doubling.

Really?!?!?! I have been an avid couponer for years and didn’t know that! This is a great day! Thank you so much, found all the coupons I need to go do this deal 🙂

Which zip code did you use to get the cinnamon Cheerio coupon on coupons.com? I can’t find it on mine. Thank you!!

I believe the coupon has reached its print limits now. I can’t find it under my zip code any more either. There was a $1.50/2 or a $1/2 in last Sunday’s paper though. You might give that a try.

We don’t have a Kroger but we do have QFC and Fred Meyer. Is this working at either one of those stores?

I will also say here in the NW they do not double or triple coupons (Albertsons now puts out coupon doublers 3 per transaction but is the only one I know of).

I’m not sure about QFC or Fred Meyer. Maybe someone who has those stores can chime in about what their store is doing.

I sometimes get frustrated because our store only doubles up to $.50. Sounds like I should be thankful instead, eh? 🙂

Ok, I just did this scenerio #2 (I had a $1.50/2 GM cereals) that I had printed a while ago! Thank you so much – it worked like a charm and I was able to get the clementines and butter I needed for next to nothing 🙂 Thanks for all of your hard work!

Yay! I haven’t gotten to go to Kroger yet this week, but you betcha I’ll be there before the week’s over! Glad it worked perfectly for you!

I’ve noticed most of the coupons from coupons.com have DO NOT DOUBLE or TRIPLE across the top of the coupon. Is there a better place to go to get coupons?

Does your store not double when they say that, Cristi? I’ve not run into a store that doesn’t double them.
