It’s been a while since I updated you on our family and what we’ve been up to, so I figured today would be a good day to do that!
Life for the Bruce family has been a wild ride lately! We’re buying my parents’ house from them, and they’re renovating what was my grandparents’ house and moving into it. One big ole house swap!
We recently moved out of the house that we’re trying to sell. Somehow we just knew that it would look better without all of our stuff in it. We left behind the bigger pieces of furniture (couches, tables, etc.) so that it looked kind of ‘staged’ for people who come to see it.
So we’re all living together right now … us and my parents. So far, so good! It’s fun for Emma to have her Grandma & Pa around to watch her dance or put on a fashion show with her latest Target styles. My mom and I are finding it refreshing to not have to worry about cooking dinner and cleaning up the kitchen every night. We’ve been taking turns (though I think she’s taken more turns than I have lately).
Emma started off this school year at the Christian school where she attended preschool. After a couple of months, we decided to homeschool her. We adore the staff and students at the school, but it just wasn’t right for Emma at the time. So we’ve been enjoying our homeschooling adventures! Hats off to my friend Joy from FiveJ’s who walked me through some excellent curriculum options as we got started. (If you haven’t checked out Joy’s free printable study charts & worksheets yet, be sure to stop over at the FiveJ’s website to see them.)
Our website/blog design business has really taken off. We have some exciting projects that have kept us hopping lately! I can’t let the cat out of the bag yet, but be sure to stop by our New Season Design site in a couple of weeks to see what we’ve been up to.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that things have been a bit quieter here lately. I hope you’ve still been able to find some great coupons and deals to help stretch your family’s budget. I recently set up a new theme on the site so that all of the dropdown menus work again. Hopefully that’s been helpful too.
Thanks to all of you who stop by Saving & Giving regularly. I’m honored to have you here.
