Do You Have a God-Sized Dream?

It was one of those moments where my heart raced. My gut said that this would be important. Not just important… life-changing.

When Alyssa asked me to be part of the 30-Day Giving Challenge team two years ago, it was one of those moments. It was late. I was tired. I had to work the next day. But I had that gut feeling that the conversation was important. That I needed to stay up and talk with her. That God was going to use this project in a big, life-changing way.

I had no idea.

No idea that God was pushing me out of my comfort zone.

No idea that He was helping me make connections that I would have never made otherwise.

No idea that He was going to help us grow our then part-time design business into something that would allow me to quit my day job.

No idea that God was intentionally moving me into a group of women who would become more sisters than friends.

But I knew it was big. I knew it was a God thing. I knew I needed to say yes.

So I jumped in with both feet.

Fast-forward to 2013, and I’m getting ready to do it again. And again I have no idea where this is going to take me. I just know that I know this is a God thing. I know that He has big plans. When the invitation came, I knew that I needed to say YES.

This time the invitation came from Holley Gerth. (If you don’t know Holley, you MUST meet her. You’ll adore her just like I do. Her encouragement will knock your socks off. For real.)

Holley set before us a dare to keep dreaming. We forget to dream sometimes, don’t we? She dared us to have a God-sized dream for 2013. A God-sized dream isn’t about the size of the dream. It’s about God placing in your heart a desire that only He can help fulfill.

My God-sized dream for 2013? It’s to grow our design business from one that just supports our family to one that allows us to give beyond what we can imagine. We took the first step just this week as we launched our new New Season Design website. (Go ahead and click on over!)
