Menu Plan Monday – The Week of Cake

June 7, 2010

This is officially the Week of Cake around our house! Today is my husband’s birthday, and Wednesday is my birthday. (Yes, we were born in the same year and are really only two days apart in age. Pretty neat, eh?)

My plan is to do our monthly cooking this week. Hopefully I’ll have the time to do it, because I’m actually cooking like I used to right now. I got really spoiled by being able to pull a meal out of the freezer! That’s motivation to get the June cooking done!

In addition to a great deal of birthday cake, here’s what we’re planning to have this week:

Monday
Dinner out with my parents
Cake #1

Tuesday
Leftover Lasagna

Wednesday
Jason’s Grilled Chicken
Seasoned Rice
Green Beans
Cake #2

Thursday
Broiled Parmesan Tilapia

Friday
Homemade Pizza

Saturday
This might be my Once-a-Month Cooking day, so I’ll probably add something to the Crock Pot for the day’s dinner.

Sunday
Italian Stuffed Shells for Emma & my parents

Your Turn: What’s on your menu this week? Do you have any recipes to share with us?

Happy birthday to you and your husband! It’s quite funny, but this week is my birthday as well as my mom’s. Her birthday is Tuesday and mine is Thursday. So 20 years and 2 days apart LOL!

Happy birthday to both of you! Today is my husband’s birthday, too! I’m planning to make a cake, but I have to make it in my toaster oven and bake one pan at a time! (We’re remodeling our kitchen, and I don’t have a real oven.) Maybe I should get an “Easy Bake Oven” mix 🙂

Kathy – I love the Easy Bake Oven idea! 🙂 I highly recommend the Chocolate Stampede cake from Longhorn if your kitchen is torn up. It’s TO-DIE-FOR! Happy birthday to Scott! (Are you making him Campbell’s soup for dinner? A little birdie told me that it was his favorite!)
