My Mom… What Can I Say?

May 8, 2010

I’ve been sitting here thinking about all of the wonderful things that I could tell you about my mom. But somehow they don’t seem like enough to really describe her and the impact that she’s had on my life.

Me with My Mom in the 70s

How can I put into simple words the time she’s spent loving, hugging, crying, laughing, listening, advising, and praying? I don’t know that I can. But I can tell you that my mom is the most selfless person I’ve ever met. She is always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her encouragement and go-get-’em spirit have helped me step out into some things I never thought I could do. I am so grateful for my mom. God has truly blessed me with her.

I hear a lot of people say I’m turning into my mother. They say it with a note of sarcasm. I say it proudly in hopes that I truly am turning into her.

Note to Mom: I know… I had to go and choose a picture of us from the 70s. But hey – When your kid has a blog site, she tends to do things like post embarrassing pictures from the 70s. Let’s just say that we’ve all come a long way since then!   Happy Mother’s Day!
