Famer’s Market Finds… Recipes Anyone?

September 16, 2011

This week was the first time that we had made it to the local farmers’ market, and I’m SO glad we went! Emma had a ball, and it’s good for her to meet some of the people who grow the food we eat. Our farmers’ market isn’t huge, but there was a nice selection of produce there this week. I even went out on a limb and bought a couple of things that I have no CLUE what to do with, an eggplant and some rhubarb. So if anyone has recipes for those, I’d LOVE to have them!

    You should do a peach galette (http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/peach_galette/). It’s a rustic pantry recipe that everyone loves.

    You have to make rhubarb crisp! … Or rhubarb punch!
    Here’s some recipes:
    http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/rhubarb-crisp/detail.aspx
    http://www.canadianliving.com/food/ginger_rhubarb_punch.php (I’d make it without the ginger)

    Let me know how you use the rhubarb, it’s really yummy!
    {can’t help you with the eggplant though :)!}

      Oh my! Those look yummy. I was considering a crisp of some sort because I don’t care much for pie crust. So maybe that’s the route I’ll go! Thanks!

      Sounds yummy! Can you tell me how much rhubarb? I think I have everything else I need to make this. 🙂
