It looks green. It doesn’t taste green.
I’m not a fan of spinach. I eat it because I know it’s good for me. But I simply tolerate it. Emma won’t eat it at all.
Enter the green smoothie.
Several friends recommended the green smoothie and promised that we wouldn’t be able to taste the spinach. I thought they were nuts. But we were willing to give it a try.
We were all surprised. Fortunately it was a pleasant surprise. 😉 We truly couldn’t taste the spinach. At all.

Green Smoothie {For People Who Don’t Like Spinach}
Serves: 3 (or 2 large)
3 frozen bananas – Peel and break into chunks before freezing.
2 oranges – peeled and chopped
1 cup canned pineapple
6 Tbl. canned coconut milk – optional – for good fats
3 handfuls of spinach
1/4 c. pineapple juice
water as needed for consistency
Combine everything except water in a blender or food processor. Add water as needed to make it thin enough to drink.
This recipe is really flexible. We’ve done this with frozen blueberries in place of the oranges & pineapples. Then we used apple juice to sweeten it a little bit. You can pretty much use whatever fruit you have on hand.
You could use ice if you don’t have frozen fruit, but the frozen bananas really make the smoothies for us. They make them more ice cream-ish.
