Menu Plan

I feel like I’m caught in a hamster wheel. Or at best a vicious cycle. Life has been crazy-busy lately. Because we’ve been busy, I haven’t taken the time to get my menu plan done. But because I don’t have a menu plan, things are even crazier each day. And round and round it goes.

Stop the madness!

This week I have to start off the week with some sort of plan in place. Sure, it might change through the week. But at least I’ll have something in place…  some sort of guideline to help with the eternal “What’s for dinner?” question each night.

If you’ve been following along with our Whole30 challenge, you’ll notice that this week’s menu is a bit different. We’ve added some grains back in. {happy dance}

:: Breakfasts ::

Blueberry muffins, scrambled eggs
Eggs, sausage, oranges
Green smoothies, bacon (I found some natural bacon at the grocery store – yay!)
Apple cinnamon baked oatmeal
Homemade granola, sausage, pear slices
Sauteed sweet potatoes & sausage, kiwi slices
Eggs & bacon in homemade whole-wheat tortillas

:: Lunches ::

Broiled chicken on large salads topped with homemade guacamole
Hot dogs with chili sauce, veggie tray
Leftovers
Stir fried chicken and veggies sprinkled with taco seasoning & topped with homemade guacamole
Oven-roasted shrimp and veggies
Hard boiled eggs, raw veggies, fruit salad
Peanut butter (or almond butter) & jelly on homemade bread

:: Dinners ::

Chicken with homemade marinara sauce, side salads
Baked fish, steamed broccoli & cauliflower
Crock Pot Roast (still working on a good recipe) with celery & carrots
Italian Spice Rub Grilled Chicken, Cinnamon Hashies
Homemade Pizza (attempting a whole wheat crust)

I actually need a couple more dinners, but I have to hit the grocery store first. I’m living by this shop the sales mentality now, especially when it comes to meat purchases.

    Even as a family that thrives on routine, we have trouble sticking to our menu plan every week. We have been exceptionally good lately, but most weeks I change at least two meals because we ran out of something or got lazy.

      I’m with you on the changes, Keri. My plan always looks lovely on Sunday evening. It’s a little beat up by the end of the week. 🙂

    Wow! Can I come eat at your house? This menu looks really YUMMY! I like that you planned out your breakfasts and lunches, too.

      C’mon over Mandy! 🙂 I didn’t always plan out breakfast & lunch, but I’m learning that those meals can have me scrambling even more than dinner. It’s purely for my sanity’s sake.
